WHITE OAK SPLITS

WHITE OAK SPLITS

Bio: With a sound so diverse as to refuse being pigeon-holed, White Oak Splits may best be described as a cross-section of rocknroll and Americana. Hailing from WNC, their individual backgrounds range from blues and string bands to psychedelia and Southern rock. This gives them a live show that feels like a mixtape of songs that are at once original and hauntingly familiar. The Splits exist in a soundscape that is expansive and enveloping, driven by primal beats and churning riffs, engaging their listeners and pulling them into a world of their own creation. Join them as they guide you on a journey into the depths of your mind, through pastoral fields and barren deserts, and into the icy depths of interdimensional space. Wherever you want to go, the Splits will surely go with you. So grab your drink and toast the journey.

Brady Lux

Brady Lux

Bio: From the edge of the Crazies in Big Timber, Montana, Brady Lux spends most of his time building electric fences, maintaining center pivots, and moving cows across the high plains. Lux’s music reflects the landscape where he toils while keeping one boot in the present through creative lyricism addressing the realities of ranching in the 21st century. His music can be best summed by a quote from Saving Country Music, a publication that took heed of Lux’s newest and first release, “Ain’t Gone So Far.”

“…As the new batch of “Western” musicians bray on and on in service of anachronistic cowboy cosplay, Brady Lux is here to sing about the true cowboy experience of today, which is a strained relationship with the modern world, trading out horses for 4-wheelers, and fighting off high feed costs and the onslaught of land developers.” -Trigger, 2024

Petunia & the Vipers

Petunia & the Vipers

Bio: Louis Armstrong was once asked what his favorite kind of music was, and his response was simple; “Good music”. Petunia & the Vipers’ sound may not sit comfortably in one certain genre, but “Good Music” describes it well.  Hank Williams on acid… Tom Waits meets Elvis at Woody Guthrie’s Hobo junction… Avant-Country night club scene music… One of the best bands in the world today, of any kind… hillbilly-flavoured-swing inflected-ragtime-goodtime-thunderously rolling-one-of-a-kind-you-don’t-want-to-miss-this-sort-of-a-show… A new music that springboards off of music of the past and jumps into the present day, left with only echoes of the past… Something in between 1920’s and steam punk. It’s good for your mind… These are just a few of the words uttered by folks around the globe trying to pin down a description of all that is Petunia & The Vipers.

Meschiya Lake & the Mood Swingers

Meschiya Lake & the Mood Swingers

Bio: Someone once coined the term “Punk Jazz” to describe Meschiya Lake’s style.  From eating glass on the sideshow circuit to fronting the Danish National Symphony, Ms. Lake has led bands and danced across stages the world over. Her recording career has seen her alongside the likes of Mr Tom Waits and netted her the Vocal Jazz Album of the Year at the 2019 Danish Grammy’s, among multiple other music awards.  A country music child star, and based out of New Orleans for two decades, she blends her musical roots with her extensive knowledge of traditional jazz.  At once contagiously danceable, and emotionally moving, Meschiya Lake swings and croons her way throughout a diverse array of powerful performances.

The Resonant Rogues

The Resonant Rogues

Bio: Rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina, The Resonant Rogues are fronted by songwriting duo Sparrow and Keith Josiah Smith, who share a passion for movement and sound. In addition to their holler homestead, New Orleans and Nashville are their other musical homes, and the influences of both can be felt on The Resonant Rogues self-titled fourth album. The sounds of Appalachian old-time, classic country, and vintage soul all make appearances on their tunes.  “Their intense cohesion is so intertwined that it feels like they’re playing with one pair of hands.” –No Depression “This is country music as classic as it comes.”-Holler Country “Soaring, haunting vocals” -Lonesome Highway
